Development of a safe and effective HIV/AIDS vaccine is one of the greatest biomedical challenges of our time. To date, one HIV vaccine candidate has shown partial efficacy in humans, and additional promising vaccine candidates are in various stages of development. The student will perform key laboratory assays to assess the immunogenicity of novel HIV vaccine candidates in preclinical and/or clinical studies.
